Job Title: General Manager, Operations

Location: Ilorin, Kwara
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • GM Operations will ensure a smooth flow of the company’s products, delivered efficiently within a set budget across all the company’s locations.
  • He will be involved in developing new sales leads, improving the existing operations, and exploring new business opportunities as well as marketing the current portfolios of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the execution of operational strategies.
  • Identify, create and develop new market opportunities, taking the lead in constructing a robust and successful business proposal that secures new sales deals and long-term business relationships.
  • Set and achieve key performance targets for sales, delivery, cost, expenses, and other measurements of operational performance.
  • Support and lead company product sales, growth, and continuous cost and quality improvements in the business.
  • To formulate performance measures, parameters, and targets in line with the business objectives and agreed every year on a performance review with targets set for the subsequent year.
  • Manage all sales-related activities covering setting and strict monitoring of sales targets and ensuring accurate delivery of products in all sales channels.
  • Ensure timely collection of the company’s outstanding monies from the customers by all sales teams.
  • Minimized sales returns/ damaged goods and short expiry goods by monitoring returns.
  • Developing a depletion plan and avoiding overstocking the Point of Sales.
  • Communicate operational/ sales results, and activities to the Executive Management and provide recommendations and plans for ongoing improvement.
  • Develop and maintain excellent rapport with key stakeholders such as clients, vendors, etc.
  • Representing the company at trade exhibitions, events, demonstrations, and other related activities.
  • Frequent market intelligence, timely update and present competitor’s activities and provides market feedback on new products, price changes, new launches, etc. to the top management.
  • Ensure areas of responsibility are delivered in a way that is consistent with the company’s goals and financial -cost improvement plans.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality on current business activities, short and long terms plans, proposals under scrutiny, and any other activity related to the business.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Master's Degree with 5 - 14 years relevant work experience.
  • The role requires an experienced manager with a background in finance, a flair for innovation and ingenuity, process efficiency, and new business development.
  • Excellent experience in sales, marketing, and managing people is a clear asset.
  • The ideal candidate will be energetic, appropriately qualified, and experienced in the sector. He must be willing to be flexible, a great communicator, and able to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • The role is one that will enable the right person to grow the business and develop their own leadership and management skills further, as part of a growing group of successful companies.

Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 Monthly.
