 Isidore is a digital platform for Agri-SMEs (e.g. suppliers of grains) & Agro Buyers (e.g. Feed mills, FMCGS) that enables purchase order management and facilitates access to working capital, for all in the value chain. Through our Jinja platform, we provide a free mobile-first ERP tool focused on purchase order fulfilment with embedded access to capital. We also extend payables on behalf of Agro Buyers thereby reducing their need for corporate financing.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Operations Manager

Locations: Abuja (FCT), Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Nassarawa and Niger
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • In this role, you will be managing operations for Isidore.
  • Documentation and creating efficient, scalable systems are your thing. People love working with you because you make everyone’s life easier and you always know the status of projects.
  • You are a very good problem solver with hustle and customer facing skills and can effortlessly switch back and forth between planning & execution.
  • You must be highly analytical, ROI-focused with a strong track record of driving meaningful growth and engagement in the Agric sector.
  • The position demands a keen business sense, strong planning and multi-tasking skills to achieve business objectives.
  • The ideal candidate is relentlessly passionate about growth and food security.
  • This role is based around Northern Nigeria, with travel up to 60% of the time in the initial stages.

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage and maintain an operational strategy for trading Agric produce
  • Have a thorough understanding of the Isidore brand and Jinja platform and act as ambassador to all customers.
  • Co-ordinate activities of trade aggregation of commodities around Northern Nigeria
  • Hire, train, and maintain teams of agents and supervisors
  • Own and be accountable for profit and loss of operational trades
  • Solicit regular feedback from customers and share with other teams, to grow the platform and business.
  • Execute against the overarching business goals and ensure our systems work efficiently
  • Use frontline information to build, educate, and inform other teams and stakeholders in the business.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years work experience.
  • Experience working in Agricultural commodities is required
  • Must speak Hausa and English languages fluently
  • Hunger to get things done: Super strong project management skills, with a focus on proactively finding practical solutions to problems.
  • Leader: need to be that person who can take the first step, inspire a room full of people to surpass themselves, and build a loyal community.
  • People Skills: need to be able to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of people. Selling ideas and beliefs is what will make you successful.
  • Target driven and ability to drive meeting of very aggressive targets.
  • Strong commercial sense, sharp problem solver and ability to get things done.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise, self-start, contribute under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Hard working, passionate and looking to embrace the challenge.
