About the Role
- Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Admissions (DMA), the Student Recruitment Manager works closely with the DMA on marketing activities to drive international student recruitment in line with the targets included in the business model.
- The Student Recruitment Manager works closely with the University Partners International Office and DMA to develop global recruitment initiatives for their region/s, with a focus on developing and conveying the institutional value propositions to market.
- This position will be responsible for on the ground sales activities including, but not limited to agent training, lead generation events, student conversion and solving specific student, parent or agent queries.
- This requires the ability to support a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across the region to drive long-term growth for specific product(s) in the market.
Key Result Areas
- Operationalise student recruitment plans in the relevant country/territory in collaboration with the College team, colleagues in the Regional Office and University Partner.
- Attend events on behalf of the college and division (and as relevant, of your University Partner)
- Participate in all sales activities including, but not limited to, agent training, student recruitment and conversion events, information sessions, webinars.
- Deliver market insight and accurate sales forecasts through regular and detailed reports to the Director of Marketing and Admissions and other stakeholders.
- Handle agent and student enquiries throughout the application process.
- Ensure complete and accurate reporting of all activities on the CRM.
- Liaise with agents and college admissions team to ensure compliance with the UKVI requirements.
- Execute student pre-departure briefings.
Requirements
The person we seek will ideally have the following:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of the UK higher education sector and value proposition.
- Ability to create and articulate value propositions in a clear and compelling way across a wide range of international audiences.
- Proven track record of strong sales performance.
- High level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills including Business level written and oral capability in English.
- Flexible attitude to work including a willingness to work weekends and evenings in support of recruitment activities both locally and internationally.
Desirable:
- Success in a sales role within the Higher Education sector.
- Proven ability to monitor and evaluate the success of activities and report appropriately.
- Proven ability to work successfully with education agents.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM system.
- Experience of managing budgets and demonstrating return on investment.

- The Recruitment Officer is expected to play a key role in the relationship between the University of Keele and Navitas colleagues based in West Africa.
- The role will holistically contribute to the alignment of the agreed joint strategy in order to achieve recruitment strategy.
- The post-holder will work closely with the Country Manager (Nigeria) to achieve Keele University’s international recruitment strategy for the market.
- The post-holder co-ordinates, plans and delivers a diverse range of activities to support the team in meeting its targets to encourage prospective students to apply to and enrol at Keele University, where this is appropriate for the student.
- This role will require extensive travel within Nigeria and possibly to other markets in the region as well as occasional travel to the UK.
Key Result Areas
- Significant domestic travel in Nigeria to represent the University at a range of recruitment events including exhibitions, partner visits, and school and university visits, with the potential for additional activity across Africa. Travel to the UK annually as appropriate.
- Provide the University with market intelligence to help identify and inform effective marketing plans.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with schools, universities, alumni and other key stakeholders in Nigeria.
- Through the development of strong working relationships, support the management of the University’s agent network in Nigeria to support the recruitment and marketing strategy. To include regular office visits, training events and conversion activities.
- Organise and deliver a range of student conversion activities, delivering calling campaigns, providing course information, application advice and support and delivering pre-departure briefings.
- Oversee data capture, ensuring the GDPR compliant transfer of data between Nigeria and the UK. Manage enquiry funnelling, ensuring that leads gathered from events are appropriately followed up with an aim of converting from enquiry to application.
- Contribute to the creation of content for digital platforms, including blogs and social media, providing useful and relevant information, advice and guidance in order to promote the University and its courses to a wide range of audiences in Nigeria.
- Develop and maintain links with alumni in Nigeria as appropriate, working with the Alumni team, as well as hosting in-country alumni events.
- Maintain accurate records of outbound activity, supporting the team in development of evaluation of its activity, including provision of market insight and analysis.
- Supporting with the development of itineraries for visiting staff of the University, including the Recruitment Team, Academics and Senior Management.

About the Role
- The Senior Student Recruitment Manager plays a significant role in driving sales growth from Nigeria and achieving UPNA student recruitment targets at Navitas’ USA and Canada campuses.
- Working closely with colleagues in colleges and Regional Management, this position will be the in-country lead of the Nigeria UPNA recruitment team who are responsible for on the ground sales activities including, but not limited to, training, events, student conversion and troubleshooting.
- This requires the SSRM to work with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across Nigeria to drive long-term growth for Navitas in the market.
Key Result Areas
- Lead and coordinate Navitas’ UPNA sales and market development initiatives across Nigeria to deliver long term, sustainable student recruitment.
- Deliver sales growth through team leadership and achieve student recruitment targets;
- Deliver exemplary regional specific sales collateral for the agent and partner networks;
- Deliver market intelligence and accurate sales forecasts via regular and detailed reports;
- Develop and lead on regional marketing initiatives in accordance with the region’s strategic marketing plans and ensure all marketing activities comply with ethical and legal standards;
- Through networks and business development activities, collaborate with Regional Managers to identify demand for Navitas products and services and assist in the development of those products to most effectively target the market;
- Lead the sales recruitment team by example- create an effective, proactive team-based culture;
- Review and assess employee performance and provide appropriate coaching and training;
- Travel to relevant fairs, exhibitions, conferences and client meetings, assisting with team members’ client meetings as required;
- Be diligent in documenting all commercial activities onto the CRM.
Requirements
Desirable:
- A University Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or a related discipline;
- A proven track record of success in international student recruitment within a commercial education business e.g. pathways, languages, private universities;
- Demonstrable experience of contributing to the development and implementation of high impact marketing campaigns that drive profitable sales growth against target;
- Excellent understanding of the complexities of operating in a variety of international markets;
- Strong, demonstrated relationship management skills, ideally within the Higher Education; sector or a related industry that involves complex, aspirational services through a multi-channel approach;
- A strong understanding of the Nigeria market together with an understanding of the wider region;
- Excellent understanding of the complexities of operating in a variety of international markets;
- An ability to coach, guide and mentor team members from diverse backgrounds to maximise their potential and results;
The person we seek will ideally have the following:
- An understanding of the North American higher education sector and experience of driving student numbers from Nigeria to North America.
- A proven track record of success in international student recruitment for an international education business;
- A strong understanding of the region’s cultures and a proven track record of being able to drive commercial success across the region;
- A proven track record in developing sales capabilities across multiple markets through sales team management and coaching;
- Highly commercial, dynamic, target-oriented and result-driven;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of dealing directly with a wide variety of people including students, parents and agents.
